Alright y’all, if I list out here everything that I’ve ever worked on, we’ll never get anything NEW accomplished! So these are just the sparkly highlights, just to give you a little taste of what I am doing / what I’ve done and some entry points into deeper Dannie Snyder Rabbit Holes. Feel free to email me if you’d like to see more samples or if you’re interested in collaborating. Some of these samples are activisty in nature and some were purely for the fun of making entertaining content. The samples are listed in the following order:

PUBLICATIONS

Check out my non-fiction book on Amazon, followed by a Zine by the rad ATX Interfaces that features my Prison Abolition sticker, and journal that features my “poetic collage on feminism,” which I recently performed at The Academy in Lynchburg, VA with YWCA at their “Raise the Vibrations & Voices” performance event.

In addition to academic and creative writing, I have also worked professionally as an editor ( and English Language Arts tutor). For many professional artists, I’ve helped edit grant proposals, text on websites, scripts, and more. If you are interested in reading more of my work or need an editor, please feel free to  contact me.

PODCAST

Check out Re – Flect / Calibrate, the podcast on the genealogy of artivism, co-hosted with the fabulous janet e. dandridge.

In our most recent episode, we interview Benjamin Lundberg Torres Sánchez, artist + facilitator, using their art to transform individual witness into collective action. As a person who was separated from their first family for 28 years through a private, transnational adoption process, they co-create spaces that encourage people to express truth to power by working together in shared knowing and practice.

THEATRE, FILM, and PHOTOGRAPHY

First, check out the feature film I produced, directed, wrote, shot, edited, and composed the music score called The Long-Term Side Effectnominated for Best Film, Best Screenplay and Best Director by the 2014 IndieCapitol Awards. Next, check out the music video that I produced, directed, shot, and edited called “FUCK THIS” with the band The Please Please Me, nominated for Best Music Video at the 2015 Austin Music Video Festival. Lastly, check out the play I directed and designed called This is Our Youth, listed in the “Top 10 Duos and Trios of 2014” by Austin Chronicle and nominated for Best Ensemble by the 2014 “Austin Critics’ Table Awards”.

Next, check out all of the videos I produced with the Free the Vaccine campaign, co-led by the Center for Artistic Activism and Universities Allied for Essential Medicines, fighting to ensure that everyone around the world has access to COVID-19 vaccines. Many of the videos, including this one “I’m Just a Vaccine,” went viral thanks to Occupy Democrats.

If you are looking for a filmmaker or theatre practictioner for your project, please feel free to  contact me (you can find samples of my work on Vimeo and again please feel free to  email me if you’d like to see more). I’m always open to projects of all genres and mediums, but I’m especially interested in work that is artivisty in nature and to do more documentaries.

Finally, if you don’t already follow me on Instagram, please do so to keep up with my projects, particularly my little bits of photography. I used to professionally offer headshots, product photography, shoot weddings, shoot live events, and more (you can find some samples via my social media channels and again please feel free to  email me if you’d like to see more). However, these days, my camera equipment is much more modest and I only document activism campaigns and movements’ actions/events (for free of course).

If you are an activist searching for a documentarian, please feel free to  contact me.

SPOKEN WORD

The following video is a snippet from a one-woman show (one-hour long) that I did at the 2018 “DIKES OF COURAGE: Martin Luther King, the Civil Rights Movement and the Aesthetics of Protest” Conference in Lisbon, Portugal. Attendees at the conference were expecting a normal lecture, but they received an interactive theatre performance, which opened with this “surprise poem”. The title of my “presentation” was The Theatre of Protest.

I have also performed a different one-woman show (also one-hour long) at the 2019 “Aesthetics of Restraint” Conference at the International University of Venice, Italy. The title of that piece was ‘Comfort Zones: Freedom of Restraint between Performer and Spectator’.

As you can probably guess, I love conferences! For example, I was recently a Panelist (and representative for the activist campaign “Free the Vaccine”, co-led by the Center for Artistic Activism and Universities Allied for Essential Medicines) at the 2021 “Remote Cultures Conversations: How the Emergence of a Vaccine Provokes Urgent Collaborations in the Arts and Public Health” at the University of Florida Center for Arts in Medicine.

If you are searching for a spoken word artist or speaker for your conference, please feel free to  contact me.
